In between meetings, coffee, eating at your desk and replying frantically to emails, you can strengthen your bones. In fact, by the very act of working your body, you might find that your cortisol levels drop and you’re more productive at work. These quick hacks will take a maximum of five minutes or less, and help you get stronger every day.
Take quick power walks:
Find excuses to walk. Take a power walk to the coffee machine that’s further away. Or walk to the furthest part of the cafeteria. Or use the printer that’s in the corner of the room.
Elevate your laptops:
Elevate your laptop such that your spine is straight and you can hold your head up high and look at the screen. Or create a standing desk; it also helps your march in place.
Stretch it out:
Set the alarm – every hour, you take a thinking and stretching break. Plot the item on your joblist as you stretch out your arms, your wrists, your legs and your back.
Go nuts for nuts:
Select the highest corner of the pantry and store your snacks there. Inbuilt stretching achieved. And what’s more, choose flax seeds and almonds to give your bones a healthy boost.
Pump some water:
Use your water bottles as weights to do quick free weight exercises during the day. Even if you do just five counts at a time, at the end of the day, you will have more than hit your target.
