Director Oliver Stone likened the US President Donald Trump to “Beelzebub”, a biblical demonic figure, during a press conference at 36th International Fajr Film Festival (FIFF) in Tehran on Wednesday.
Asked who Donald Trump resembled in cinema, Stone simply responded: “Beelzebub.”
The American film director went on to strongly criticize the US foreign policy in the Middle East. “The wars continue because America says to itself, ‘ha, well we made of Iraq maybe, but you know what, that works.'”
The three-time Oscar winner Stone is in Iran for the first time and spoke with the Iranian journalists in a press conference during the 36th International Fajr Film Festival (FIFF) at the Charsu Cineplex in Tehran.
This year the FIFF will run from April 19 to 27 and will focus on Italian cinema and its influence on the Iran’s domestic film industry.
