Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we could afford all the fancy gym equipment at our homes? Well, as nice and fascinating as it sounds, it is definitely not an option for most people. And if you’re a bride to be, but don’t have the time to go for a time-consuming fitness programme, here are a few exercises that can make staying fit a little less complicated. These are so simple that you can actually do them while watching television! So no more excuses, ladies!
Slim and trim
Fat stored in the wrong areas can really look unpleasant. Almost all the cardio exercises that you do make you lose fat from all over the body and are core strengthening exercises which help you get a slimmer tummy. However, there are a very few ones that focus on your oblique muscles that result in unsightly love handles, if not toned. To get a slimmer waist, roll out your mat and stand on both your knees. Now make sure you double up your mat in the centre to get a nice cushion for your knee as you place one leg out with toes facing forward making sure that the knee is straight. Take your hands all the way up clasping them together and bend down in the direction opposite to the leg that you have placed out. Do 50 repetitions.
Jog your way to fitness
Surprised much? Yes, you can jog in your living room, or in any other room you like, for that matter. All you need to do is fix a spot and jog on the spot. Jogging is a great exercise for your heart and the best way to burn calories without going out. Jogging on the spot is like having a make-believe treadmill, without having to own one. You get excellent results if the intensity is high and the only equipment you need is a good pair of shoes to eliminate any stress on your legs.
Oh, how we all wish we had toned thighs and butt like that of Victoria’s Secret models! I feel you. Butt and thighs are problem areas for a lot of women and to make them lean and strong, go ahead and lie down on your side on a yoga mat, making sure that the elbow is underneath the shoulder. If your neck hurts in this position you can straighten your arm and lay down throughout this exercise. Place the other hand on the hip and lift up your leg all the way to the top and bring it down. Do 50 repetitions for each side and feel your glute muscles strengthen and your body transform.
Focus on inner thighs
It’s no surprise that following the same workout regime every single day is monotonous and will eventually lead to boredom. So, why not treat yourself to a song challenge? It’s fun. It’s different than your regular workout routine, AND you strengthen your muscles quite a bit, in a lot less time. To focus on your inner thighs, you need to sit down on a mat with your legs spread forward and recline back on to your elbows. Lift up your legs placing the heels of your feet together and flexing your legs into a V. The next step is to stretch your legs out in a way that the inside of your knees come together, and repeat this activity till the entire duration of the song you chose.
Get the tone right
Arm toning and strengthening exercises are very important throughout life, and the benefits go way beyond that just looking good in your tank top. Doing arm toning activities can offer you many benefits. Arm exercises must be done on a regular basis to strengthen them up. If you want strong arms like Venus Williams’ then roll out your mat and work your arms, chest and back all with one move. Lie flat on your stomach. Keep your palms facing downwards on the mat and bring them all the way back to your chest making sure that your elbows are always pointed at the back. Lift up your upper body in a half-cobra position, hold it there for a second or two and release. Doing 25 to 30 repetitions of this work out will not only strengthen your arms but the whole upper body as well.
