Transfer Gossip: Lewandowski to Chelsea, Alderweireld to Barcelona

Clubs are slowly turning their eyes toward the summer window, and Transfer Talk has the updates on all the latest rumours.

Blues eye Hazard-Lewa partnership

It could soon be crunch time as far as the future of Chelsea playmaker Eden Hazard is concerned, according to the NOV.

Amid continuing speculation that the Belgium international could join Real Madrid, it reports that Chelsea “are working to convince him to agree a new contract.”

Hazard is valued at more than £200 million by the Blues, who will offer him a salary of some £300,000 a week, but the Mail adds that he “is understood to be waiting to see what Madrid offer.”

However, uncertainty over the futures of both Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane and Chelsea’s Antonio Conte could be a decisive factor in what Hazard decides to do next.

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich ace Robert Lewandowski has emerged as a potential teammate for Hazard next season.

The Poland captain is keen to leave” the German champions and has hired super-agent Pini Zahavi to negotiate his release.

The 29-year-old is believed to be seeking one final big payday and, while Chelsea are favourites to sign him, is being pursued by the likes of Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.

Barca could move for Tottenham’s Alderweireld

Earlier this month, it seemed Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld might be heading for Manchester United in the summer. Now the Independent says Barcelona are keeping tabs on his situation “with a view to a serious bid.”

Alderweireld’s contract runs out in 2020 and talks over a new one have dragged, with the defender linked with United, Manchester City, Chelsea and Real Madrid amid reports that a £25m release clause can be activated next summer.

There is currently an impasse,” with Barcelona set to make a bid if new terms cannot be agreed.

Part of the reason for that impasse is that Alderweireld’s representatives want a deal “close to Virgil van Dijk’s reported £180,000-a-week wage at Liverpool.”

Meanwhile, reports linking Spurs with Fulham prospect Ryan Sessegnon have surfaced again, saying they are ready to pay around £35m.

However, it adds that the Championship high-fliers “will fight to keep Sessegnon if they are promoted, and already value the 17-year-old at closer to £50m.”

Although United have been credited with an interest in the England Under-19 international, Spurs feel they are “at the front of the queue.”

– West Ham are ready to renew efforts to sign Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker in the next window, according to the NOV.

It reports that the Hammers “are big fans of the 22-year-old” and had hoped to sign him in January after failing with attempts to recruit players including Joe Allen of Stoke and Norwich City’s James Maddison .

– Liverpool are among a number of Premier League clubs tracking £20 million-rated Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook , sources close to the player said.

– Swansea midfielder Ki Sung-Yueng has emerged as a target for AC Milan, who want to bring him to Serie A on a free transfer come the season’s end.

Citing reports in Italy, it says South Korea international Ki could be one of a trio of new faces, with Brighton goalkeeper Tim Krul and Sampdoria defender Ivan Strinic also on the wanted list.
