John Terry highly recommended to takeover Conte’s Job

One former Premier League manager has suggested John Terry as a replacement for Antonio Conte at Chelsea.

The Italian is teetering on the brink of losing his job at Chelsea as the Blues sit in fourth after back-to-back defeats to Bournemouth and Watford.

So who should replace him? Former Hull and recently sacked Southend manager Phil Brown has an idea. A terrible idea.

“Your manager’s job is to manage and motivate the players and create that opportunity for the players to express themselves to the best of their ability,” Brown said.

“Collectively it looks like that is not happening, certainly in the last couple of games.

“So you have to hold your hand up if you are Antonio Conte because he hasn’t done his job, he has not done his job for me.

“As far as I was concerned the Chelsea performance was so lacklustre and it was uncharacteristic of them.

“Now people are asking, ‘If Conte moved would Chelsea improve?’ And the answer is probably yes.

“It’s just happened to me at Southend, they’ve won two out of two and now all of a sudden you’re seeing a different Southend.

“Who would take over? That’s the thing? Would it be a John Terry comeback at the end of the season to go into management for his first time?

“I think the Chelsea fans would welcome that if truth be known.”

You can currently get 50/1 on Terry taking over, with former Barcelona coach Luis Enrique the favourite.
